Kahibalo Foundation: Annual Report – 2024

2024 is already a history and therefore we would therefore like to present to you the activities we have undertaken to achieve the Foundation’s goals. If you think that we have been idle, you could not be mistaken – here are some words from the President of the Foundation, Dr Filip Wojciechowski. Be sure to also see our full annual report for 2024 – you can download it here.

Our dear friends and supporters of Kahibalo!

I had allocated myself one morning to write this annual report… Very soon after it turned out to be impossible! There was much more to report than everyone connected with Kahibalo probably realised. This means that this year has really been full of events, challenges and new opportunities. This is unbelievable considering voluntary involvement of people in the foundation – Julie, Basia, Kasi, the students and myself – people who are all working/studying full-time (and sometimes even more!) in different places.

This raises the question of what could be achieved if we could afford a full-time employee. But with your help, it might soon be possible!

What Kahibalo Foundation did in 2024?

What was going on at the Kahibalo Foundation, or rather what did the Foundation manage to do in 2024? We were mainly busy with educational and research activities, which are the Foundation’s main areas of focus. I think the numbers will nicely illustrate to you all what we managed to do.

Is this a lot? In my opinion, quite a lot for an organisation that is only two years old!

  • We conducted the first colugos’ count in the Philippines over 1,500 hectares in the municipality of Anda, spending around 400 hours in the field!
  • We spent a total of 22 hours spreading biodiversity knowledge to high school students, college students, teachers and the wider public.
  • We presented the results of our research at 4 conferences and published 2 scientific articles.
  • We have also established some pretty interesting partnerships, which (keep your fingers crossed!) may result in new projects next year!

Thank you!

All this would not be possible without the many people who support the Kahibalo Foundation with funds, a kind word, a helping hand or simply by promoting our activities among their friends. On behalf of everyone involved in the Kahibalo Foundation, a huge thank you to all of you!

I also hope that you will support us as you have done so far, because we are definitely not going backwards, but forwards! So fasten your seatbelts with us and let’s jump into 2025!

With greetings,
Dr Filip J. Wojciechowski
